Beneficiary Preventive Benefits Information NMMRA is committed to helping the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) provide information to beneficiaries and their families about Medicare and its preventive services. As the state's health care quality improvement organization, NMMRA encourages New Mexico's Medicare beneficiaries to take advantage of the following preventive services and benefits to help them live healthier and more active lives. Preventive services and benefits covered under Medicare include: CMS has many helpful online publications and materials that are available in English and Spanish. My Medicare Preventive Benefits Checklist as well as Medicare's official preventive services booklet, Your Guide to Medicare's Preventive Services contains valuable information about disease prevention and why it's important. MyMedicare.gov Beneficiaries are also encouraged to visit CMS's prevention-targeted Web site, a user-friendly site that gives registered Medicare beneficiaries access to personalized information on benefits and services. Beneficiaries can check which preventive services they need, check their Part B deductible status, view eligibility and enrollment information - including information related to the Part D prescription drug program and take care of administrative issues such as verifying an address, ordering replacement Medicare cards, check on the status of claims and get on-line forms and publications. People with Medicare can also get this same information by calling 1-800-MEDICARE. HealthierUS.gov The HealthierUS initiative is a national effort to improve people's lives, prevent and reduce the costs of disease, and promote community health and wellness. The site encourages people to learn how to make physical activity a part of their day, eat healthfully, protect themselves and their family from illness, and avoid risks to their health and the health of their loved ones.
