The CLABSI Prevention Collaborative of New Mexico
The Central Line-associated Bloodstream Infection (CLABSI) Prevention Collaborative of New Mexico is an initiative to help participating hospitals develop surveillance standards and best practices, educate patients and providers, share knowledge and by working together, ultimately decrease the rate of CLABSIs. The CLABSI Collaborative is the first Health Care-associated Infection (HAI) prevention collaborative to be funded by the New Mexico Department of Health through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) grant received from the Department of Health and Human Services. It supports the overall state HAI plan for surveillance, reporting, response, education and communication for HAIs.
The CLABSI Collaborative is led by a steering committee of clinical and program experts who provide support to the participating improvement teams through meetings, calls and educational activities. The work of the CLABSI Collaborative Steering Committee is aligned with the state-appointed HAI Advisory Committee, enacted in March 2008 and charged initially with implementing a pilot project for hospital reporting of infection data. The Advisory Committee meets regularly to make decisions regarding the surveillance and public reporting of HAIs in New Mexico. - New Mexico Veteran’s Affairs (VA) Health Care System
- Presbyterian Hospital
- New Mexico Hospital Association
- Heart Hospital of New Mexico
- NMMRA
