Hospitals : Public Reporting : QIO Clinical Warehouse

The QIO Clinical Warehouse contains data uploaded from hospitals across the nation for various initiatives. The intent of this repository is to:

  • Reduce the burden of duplicate data collection and reporting
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Joint Commission (formerly JCAHO) have come together to reduce the burden of duplicate record requests related to their various initiatives. Any records requested by CMS will not be re-requested if they have already been uploaded to the Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) Clinical Warehouse.

  • Allow hospitals to share quality-of-care data with patients
CMS realizes that the quantity and quality of health care information available to the public is very important. The current public reporting initiatives, the Hospital Quality Alliance, formerly the National Voluntary Hospital Reporting Initiative (NVHRI), and the Reporting Hospital Quality Data for Annual Payment Update (APU) Initiative, will allow your hospital to publicize your quality of care data that has been submitted to the QIO Clinical Warehouse.

  • Allow for more effective partnership with NMMRA
The New Mexico Medical Review Association (NMMRA) can access all of the data that hospitals upload to the warehouse, and target quality improvement projects in the areas where individual hospitals could benefit most.

  • Encourage every member of your staff to be involved in quality improvement When data on your hospital's quality of care are made public, every member of your staff will have a stake in improving quality of care at your facility.

To submit data to the QIO Clinical Warehouse, you must have access to QualityNet.

If you would like your Joint Commission Performance Measurement System (PMS) vendor to submit your quality data for you, you must complete the Hospital Authorization for Vendor Transmission of Data form.

Complete and mail this form to:
