Membership in NMMRA

New Mexico Medical Review Association is a non-profit organization that exists to promote and improve the quality of medical care. Membership is open to Doctors of Medicine and Osteopathy who are currently licensed and are practicing in New Mexico.

NMMRA's Goals

As the Medicare quality improvement organization (QIO) for New Mexico, NMMRA contracts with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to:

  • Improve health care quality
  • Promote the efficient and effective expenditure of health care resources
  • Ensure that medical care meets evolving professionally recognized standards for Medicare beneficiaries in the state

No Membership Dues

Physicians, both in active practice and retired, are invited to join the nearly 500 current members and help NMMRA achieve these important goals. NMMRA members are charged no dues or other fees, and any member may terminate his/her membership at any time by notifying NMMRA in writing.

Peer Reviewers Needed

NMMRA maintains a physician peer reviewer panel to assist us in conducting our quality and utilization review activities. NMMRA pays physician peer reviewers at a rate of $95 per hour plus gross receipts tax for medical case review.

To apply for membership, please complete and submit the online membership form. If you are interested in participating as a NMMRA peer reviewer, and are in active practice, please check the appropriate box on the form.
